Sometimes the best cosplay ideas come from timing and this one came from Easter.
If you ever find yourself attending a convention that falls around Easter, I highly recommend trying at least one bunny-themed cosplay. It’s fun, playful, and a little unexpected—and that’s exactly what inspired this Bulma bunny suit look.
The Inspiration
As a longtime Dragon Ball Z fan, Bulma has always stood out to me. She’s:
- Feisty
- Expressive
- And often hilariously over everything happening around her
There’s something especially memorable about her bunny suit appearance, where she’s dressed cute, but completely annoyed, which honestly makes it even better.
The Look
This cosplay was a mix of themed pieces and items I already owned, making it a great example of a fun, accessible build.
Main Pieces
- Blue bodysuit corset (Originally purchased for Bowsette cosplay)
- Opaque blue tights
- Red pointed flats (Previously used for Wicked Lady, now discontinued, but similar styles can be found online)
Accessories
- Bunny ear and cuff set (A common set style you can easily find online)
- Blue wig (hair down style)
Contacts Note (Important Tip)
I also wore blue contact lenses, but learned something important: Avoid lenses with printed “anime highlight dots”
- They tend to shift and spin throughout the day
- The design doesn’t stay in place
- It can end up looking like something completely unintended
At one point, people even thought I had clouds in my eyes, which was funny, but not exactly the goal.
Convention Experience
One of the best parts of this cosplay happened at a Dragon Ball meetup. Completely unplanned, we ended up with multiple versions of Bulma all in one place It was honestly amazing; almost like we covered every variation of her character without coordinating it.
We took:
- Cute group photos
- And a hilarious set where we were all yelling at Vegeta
Which, if you know Bulma… felt very on-brand.
Comfort & Wearability
This costume was:
- Comfortable
- Easy to move in
- And great for a full convention day
It’s not something I would enter into a competition, and that’s completely okay. Not every cosplay needs to be:
- Highly technical
- Or competition-focused
Some are just meant to be:
fun, social, and memorable
Current Condition
- Stored safely with related costume pieces
- Corset is still in good condition
- Tights may need replacing over time (as expected with delicate materials)
Overall, it’s a reusable and flexible cosplay, especially for themed events.
Final Thoughts
This is one of those cosplays that reminds me that sometimes the simplest ideas create the best experiences.
Between:
- The seasonal theme
- The Dragon Ball meetup
- And the unexpected group moments
This one ended up being one of my favorites.
