This is one of those looks where I look back and think… yeah, I was absolutely in a mood, and I fully committed to it.
Not every outfit needs to be tied to a specific character. Sometimes it’s about creating a full aesthetic, and this one leaned hard into a “space bunny meets luxury snow resort” vibe.
The Concept
This outfit sits somewhere between:
- Futuristic winterwear
- Playful bunny theme
- And what I jokingly call “rich girl snow bunny energy”
It’s not tied to a specific franchise. It’s more of a mood-based look that feels like it belongs in:
- A stylized winter photoshoot
- Or a dramatic movie setting
The Base Piece
The core of this look was an all-silver snow jumpsuit from Tipsy Elves.
They’re known for:
- High-quality novelty apparel
- Especially their holiday collections
But they also make winter gear, and this piece immediately stood out.
Fit Note (Important Tip)
There were known complaints about the torso length, so I recommend:
- Buying ahead of time
- Trying it on early
- Exchanging if needed
For me, the fit worked, but it’s something to be mindful of.
Custom Modifications
I didn’t keep it as-is, I customized it quite a bit.
Fur Trim Swap
- Original: black fur
- Replaced with: white fur
This completely changed the look to something:
- Brighter
- More stylized
- And more “snow bunny” themed
Pant Interior Adjustment
The inside of the pant legs originally had:
- Reinforced fabric to prevent boot scuffing
I covered it with:
- White scrap fabric
Just to keep the look visually consistent.
Boot Covers (DIY)
Using leftover white fur fabric, I created:
- Custom boot covers
By the end, I had almost no fabric left. Faux fur is not cheap, and this project definitely reminded me of that.
Faux Fur Tips (Very Important)
Working with faux fur is its own skill.
My go-to methods:
- Cut from the back (upside down)
- Use small, careful snips
- Big cuts will shear the fibers and make a mess
Alternative method (when applicable):
- Make a small cut
- Then gently pull the backing apart
Sometimes this creates a cleaner separation depending on the fabric.
Accessories
- Bunny ear winter hat
- White winter gloves
- Purple ski goggles
The goggles were actually a nostalgic touch:
- Purple was the color I had when I first learned to ski
- Back then, the shade was called “psycho”
Now it’s just labeled “purple,” but I still think of them as my psycho goggles.
Functionality & Warmth
This outfit worked differently depending on activity level:
Active (Skiing)
- Warm enough
- Comfortable
Stationary (Ice Castles, standing around)
- Not quite warm enough
Recommendation: Layer underneath if you won’t be moving much.
Design Note
One thing I wish it had:
- Vent zippers
Many ski jackets include them, and they help regulate temperature better. This one didn’t but thankfully, it didn’t overheat either.
The Vibe
This outfit gives off a very specific energy:
- Main character
- Slightly dramatic
- Possibly the “villain” in a winter movie
Like:
- The rich girl buying out a mountain
- Or the character turning a quiet town into a luxury ski resort
It’s extra and that’s exactly why I love it.
Current Condition
- Jumpsuit: stored and intact
- Boot covers: reusable and removable
- Gloves: still owned (questionable practicality long-term)
- Accessories: all stored
I may reuse pieces individually rather than the full look.
Final Thoughts
This isn’t traditional cosplay; it’s more of a themed and stylized outfit. But it absolutely holds its place in my collection because:
- It’s bold
- It’s memorable
- And it fully commits to a concept
Even if that concept is:
“space bunny at a luxury ski resort”
